Venue / Directions

Through this guide we hope to provide you with all the necessary information to navigate your way to the conference venue. Please note that the guide below is for informational purposes only and the conference does not endorse nor is partnered with any of the Transit Apps or rideshare services included below. The 2024 NYC Neuromodulation Conference will be hosted at the historic City College of New York with peaceful outdoor spaces, state-of-the-art conference facilities, surrounded by the vibrant Harlem neighborhood known for its jazz clubs, trendy eateries, and multi-cultural heritage.

There is no hotel at the venue. Delegates are responsible for identifying and booking their own travel and should allow for sufficient travel times between their hotel and the venue. You may use this guide for suggestions regarding travel options to the venue.

Directions

New York City is served by three major airports: John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), LaGuardia Airport (LGA), and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). Travel time by car from these airports to the conference venue varies depending on traffic conditions. From JFK, the travel time is approximately 60-90 minutes, while from LGA and EWR, it is approximately 45-60 minutes by car.

Local travel options to the venue

For attendees seeking the most convenient and secure transportation option, we recommend ride-sharing services. However, New York City offers a wide range of public transportation options. We recommend using Google Maps to plan your entire route.

Subway (Most economical, includes walking from/to subway station)

Take the 1 train to the 137th St-City College station. (Approx. 8 minutes walk from the station)
Take the A, B, C or D train to the 145th St station. (Approx. 15 minutes walk from the venue)

Please make sure to allow for extra time while making travel plans to the venue as delays and service disruptions can happen.

Rideshare (Most direct and convenient)

Utilize ride-sharing services such as Uber or Lyft or Revel. Use destination address: Shepard Hall, 160 Convent Ave, New York, NY 10031

Bike Share:

Citi Bike stations are available throughout New York City, providing an eco-friendly transportation option.
Simply unlock a bike using the Citi Bike app, or the Lyft app, ride to the venue, and return the bike to any nearby station. Please note that helmets are not provided with the bikes.
Citi Bike offers regular bikes as well as pedal assist bikes for an extra fee.
Please note that docks may be full when you arrive so please plan accordingly to allow for extra travel time if you need to look for an empty dock at another nearby station.

Parking:

Limited street parking may be available in the vicinity of the venue.
Please note that parking may not be available during certain hours in some streets while the conference is in session because of street cleaning. Please plan accordingly.
Alternatively, there are paid parking garages available nearby, you can use Google Maps to find all parking garages available in the vicinity.
