Rules for professional conduct at the NYC Neuromodulation 2024 conference

All faculty and attendees are reminded about the requirement of adhering to the NYC Neuromodulation Code of Conduct, Social Media Policy, and policies regarding Avoiding Harassment and Discrimination. These are specified below. We value the high standards set by the NYC Neuromodulation Diversity, Accessibility, and Professional Conduct Committee, which is reflected in every aspect of our meeting, including our presence on social media.

While we deeply cherish the freedom of expression, we also firmly believe in maintaining an environment free from racism, discrimination, and violence, whether during the conference days or online including posts, symbols, or photographs. Considering that politically charged messages, even with good intentions, can be misunderstood or create a distracting atmosphere unrelated to the educational and scientific goals of the conference, we kindly request that speakers refrain from including such content in their presentations or posters. Please note that political slogans, posters, flags, chants, and related displays are not permitted at the conference. If any attendee encounters an activity that does not align with the conference's professional conduct policy, we urge them to contact the conference's Accessibility, Diversity, and Professional Conduct Committee at diversity@neuromodec.com or approach a member of the conference staff.

Each individual attending the NYC Neuromodulation deserves to feel safe and respected. This sense of security and respect is fundamental to our core values. As a NYC Neuromodulation Community, we are committed to upholding the highest standards, not only in the high quality and rigor of the research content proposed in the scientific program but also in the way we communicate and interact with our peers and fellow researchers.

We will encourage all to continue engaging in respectful and considerate dialogue, always prioritizing the dignity and well-being of each other. Thank you for your commitment to these values and for making the 2024 NYC Neuromodulation Conference a welcoming and respectful place for everyone.
